Artists will first share their musical interests to help us choose their sheet music. This process will be based on a combination of their ability, personal interest, and our own expertise.
Once a song is selected, Artists will receive sheet music, a vocal demonstration, and an instrumental track to start learning and rehearsing in advance of the first lesson.
Introduction to directors of NGYAS, overview of program, expectations and goals. Implement warm-up techniques and ear training, break down the lyrical content and score of the first piece, and introduction to group Masterclass.
We will then dive deeper into the personal connection to the material, discuss subtext and relationship between acting and musicality and add physical expression of song. Once that is done, we will Teach tools for breaking down song in truth. Now we will Introduce the 2nd musical selection. This Second week group master class will be with a Special Guest.
Artists will begin coaching on their second song. Artists must use our tools from the first two weeks to connect and build stronger intention in delivery. You will open the door to discovering the different emotions connected to what the writers were trying to convey in the piece. The Third week group master class will also be with a Special Guest.
While working on the second song, we toss different life scenarios at our artists to get them to zone into taking direction. Once the artists have a good connection to the song, we want them to be flexible in their choices but always deliver the text in truth. We will then Introduce the third and final song of the program. Fourth week group masterclass with a Special Guest.
Artists will now use the tools from the first four weeks to breakdown text, orchestrations, and song connection. We will direct and inform our artist to what our showcase guidelines are for filming, and presentation. At this point we want to start narrowing song selection down from the three pieces that were given, to what showcases our artist best. Fifth week group masterclass with a Special Guest.
This will be the time for our final song(s) selection between our artist and our directors. We discuss how they would like to present the selected piece from clothing, to where they would like to record, down to which camera angle they should record from. This is the week they receive guidelines, taping deadline, and their own personal instrumental track for their recordings. Sixth and final group masterclass with a Special Guest.
